I have developer 2000 installed, and i have a server a 8i database installed.

I install 10g form in my pc, a problem occured the sql plus can not connect the database on the server, either sql plus on the developer 2000.

How i can do that i can connect the 8i database? without uninstall the developer 2000.

mean that now you can not connect using the "old" (Developer 2000) SQL*Plus nor "new" 10g SQL*Plus?

Did you run the Net Configuration Assistant?

If the "old" configuration (8i database Developer 2000) properly worked, did you try to copy TNSNAMES.ORA and SQLNET.ORA from the 8i_home\network\admin directory and copy them into the Developer_10g\network\admin? It *might* help.

Answer:How many ‘tnsnames.ora’ files do you have on your PC? Did you search this forum for ‘tnsnames.ora’? Did you see any reference to ‘tns_admin’? USE IT!!
