hi

i have a requirement in which i have two text item’s exist on different canvas’s and i have a single column lov in the form.

i want to invoke the lov for both text items form the button items which are placed near the text items and return the slected value from the lov to the text item’s.

regards

jitender.

Answer:You can use the same record group; just create two LoV’s and base them on this record group. Make sure every LoV returns value into appropriate text item (i.e. create a proper mapping between LoV value and form item).

Answer:hi

is there any other method in which i user single lov to accomplish that task.

Answer:Another Orafaq poster recommended using either a ‘global’ or a hidden field in a ‘control’ block as the receiving field in the LOV and then copying that value to the field in which you are currently interested.

Answer:ok, but by this method i can only provide same value to both items , but i want to provide different values to both the items.

jitender

Answer:Forms can only process one item at a time. Therefore, if, in the LOV trigger associated with each item, you take the returned value and place it in your record then each trigger associated with its own item may place the returned information in different places.
